Old Union Ministers School Lessons
Audio, video, and written files for 2002-2017 are available. We are working diligently to get 1975 and 1980-2001. We also have 1974, 1976, and 1979 lessons on reel-to-reel tapes that we plan to convert to MP3s. We hope to load video from past lessons as quickly as possible, but please understand that this is a very slow process as everything prior to 2006 was recorded on video tape.

Title: The Comfort of His Humanity and the Power of His Divinity
Speaker: Bradley Hicks
Series: 2025 Sunday Sermons
Date: October 12, 2025
Bible: Matthew 14:27
The sermon centers on the dual nature of Christ—his humanity and divinity—as revealed in Matthew 14, where Jesus walks on water and calms the storm. Through the lens of Jesus' emotional response to John the Baptist's death, his compassion for the crowd, and his intimate interaction with Peter, the message emphasizes that Christ is not only a distant deity but a deeply empathetic companion who shares in human sorrow, weakness, and fear. Yet, in that same moment of vulnerability, he reveals his divine power—his ability to heal, provide, and rescue, affirming that he is the only one who can meet every need, both physical and spiritual. The preacher calls believers to find comfort in Christ's relational closeness while trusting in his sovereign authority, especially in times of doubt, suffering, or uncertainty, where faith is not about perfection but about leaning into a Savior who is both intimately familiar and eternally powerful.
Please contact us if you find an audio file that is poor quality. The only recordings that exist from the early years of the Ministers School were made on handheld tape recorders and some are better quality than others.
We want to think the following people who have taken time to help us convert the tapes to MP3s: Elder Jimmy Claiborne Elder Frank DeSouza Sister Lisa Parker
And thanks to those who have donated their tape sets. Elder Jeremy Miller (1975) Elder Ron Spurgeon (1974, 1976, 1979) Elder Jim Whitney (1979, 1980)
